Tulare County Seeks District One Resident to Serve on Assessment Appeals Board

The County of Tulare Clerk of the Board Office is accepting applications from interested and qualified District One residents to fill a vacancy on the Tulare County Assessment Appeals Board.

The purpose of the appeals board is to determine the full value of property or to determine other matters of property tax assessment over which the appeals board has jurisdiction.

District One includes the cities of Exeter, Farmersville, Lindsay, and east Visalia, and the communities of Three Rivers, Poplar, Cotton Center, Strathmore, Tonyville, and Lindcove.

A person shall not be eligible for nomination for membership on an assessment appeals board unless he or she has a minimum of five years professional experience in this state as one of the following: certified public accountant or public accountant, licensed real estate broker, attorney, property appraiser accredited by a nationally recognized professional organization, property appraiser certified by the Office of Real Estate Appraisers, or property appraiser certified by the State Board of Equalization.

The appeals board meets on the third Monday of each month in the Board of Supervisors’ Chambers (with the exception of January, February and December which are adjusted due to County holidays).
