District Attorney's Justice Run Benefits Local Agencies

On January 17, 2013, District Attorney Tim Ward and Supervisor Mike Ennis from the Tulare County Board of Supervisors presented the Executive Board of the Central California Family Crisis Center with a check of nearly $6,000.  The financial award was raised by the Tulare County District Attorney’s Justice Run on October 20, 2012.

The annual Justice Run takes place as part of Domestic Violence Awareness month.  Over 400 participants took part in either a 5K run or a one mile walk in October 2012. The total proceeds from the event were approximately $12,000, which was distributed equally between the Central California Family Crisis Center of Porterville and Family Services of Tulare County in Visalia. These are the two primary organizations that provide shelter and vital services to victims of domestic violence and their children.

District Attorney Tim Ward expressed to the Board that he will continue to show his support for vulnerable victims and looks forward to a continued collaborative effort in the future.
