Representatives from Tulare County’s Resource Management Agency will make at least four stops in the next two weeks to discuss and provide information about the Tulare County General Plan 2030 Update.
Board of Supervisors Chairman Steve Worthley said the purpose of the meeting is to inform and educate Tulare County’s cities and unincorporated communities about the General Plan 2030 Update. Chairman Worthley attended a General Plan Update meeting on May 19 in Traver and plans to attend the May 25 meeting in Dinuba.
“The General Plan Update has generated interest from many Tulare County stakeholders,” Chairman Worthley said. “These informational workshops will provide a better understanding of the document and how it might impact the County’s future.”
Resource Management Agency representatives will make presentations on the following dates:
- 7 p.m., May 24. Pixley Town Council Meeting. Church of the Nazarene
- 6 p.m., May 25. Dinuba City Council Meeting. 405 E. El Monte Way. Dinuba, CA
- 7 p.m., June 7. Visalia City Council Meeting. 707 W. Acequia Ave. Visalia, CA
- 6 p.m., June 8. Lindsay City Council Meeting. 251 E. Honolulu St. Lindsay, CA
Tulare County Resource Management Agency Special Projects Manager Dave Bryant said more informational meetings will be made with cities and unincorporated communities.
The General Plan 2030 Update provides a comprehensive, long-term plan of the physical development of the County related to planning. The County’s General Plan 2030 Update consists of development policies that set forth objectives, principles and standards that guide land use decisions within Tulare County.
Currently, Tulare County is recirculating its Draft Environmental Impact Report (RDEIR). The RDEIR has a public review period of 60 days, starting on March 25, 2010 and ending on May 27, 2010 at 5:30 p.m.
