The Tulare County Board of Supervisors Tuesday appointed Lori Looney as the Tulare County Purchasing Agent.
Looney has more than 20 years of procurement experience in private and public sectors, where she has worked for Unisource, Caskey Paper Company, and Tulare County.
Looney started her public service career with Tulare County in November 1999 as a purchasing agent and was promoted to buyer in 2006. She is a member of the California Association of Public Purchasing Officers and is currently the Chapter Chair for the Central Valley Purchasing Group.
As the purchasing agent, Looney is charged to plan, organize, direct and manage the provision of countywide, centralized purchasing; to establish, implement, and monitor procurement procedures.
Looney replaced longtime purchasing agent Al Guzman, who retired this week after decades of public service.
“I have enjoyed working with Al Guzman for the past 12 years,” Looney said. “I’m very excited and looking forward to my new position as purchasing agent for Tulare County and continuing to accomplish great things.”
