July 12, 2011
Today the conditions of the Kings River were carefully reviewed by Tulare County Sheriff's Department and General Services Staff. The river water levels have returned to a reasonable level to allow the reopening of the river on Tuesday July 12, 2011.
The Kings River Water Master's Office expects the flow to continue near current levels or continue to drop over the course of the summer. This is great news for all the folks wanting to go boating, jetskiing, fishing, floating, and swimming.
We would like to caution people as they return to the river that the high flows have moved a lot of sand bars into new places and there may be significant changes to the channel. Users of the river are strongly encouraged to use a great deal of caution when recreating. The Tulare County Sheriff's Department will be patrolling the Kings River ensuring everyone's safety.
