Two Tulare County LIbrary Branches Temporarily Closed for Renovations

March 3, 2011

The Earlimart and Ivanhoe branches of the Tulare County Library will be closed for renovations through April 30, 2011.

The Tulare County Library is making significant improvements to the Earlimart and Ivanhoe branches. The buildings will receive new roofs, new carpeting and new paint. Additionally, each branch will receive new furniture, book shelving and computers.

"The renovations being completed will result in an upgraded library with increased functionality for residents of Ivanhoe and Earlimart and the surrounding communities," said Jeff Scott, Deputy Tulare County Librarian. "The renovations will improve the quality of service for residents in these rural communities," said Scott.

The improvements are being funded through a combination of sources. The United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development, the Tulare County Library and the Tulare County Library Foundation all contributed to the renovations.

To provide for continuation of service, the library’s bookmobile will be available for residents during renovations. The bookmobile will be in Ivanhoe from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm on Thursdays and in Earlimart from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
