North Tulare County residents who want to grow their own garden and make smarter food choices will be able to learn more at the Dinuba Branch Library in March and April.
The University of California, Tulare County Master Gardeners will present information about basic gardening and summer vegetable gardening at 1 p.m. on March 27. This FREE program will give attendees a good start on growing great vegetables for summer eating.
The library is also hosting a program on healthy foods to buy. The four session, ‘Plan, Shop, Save and Cook’ series will show participants how to make good food choices within a limited budget. At noon on each Thursday in April, participants will learn about Meal Planning and Shopping, Understanding Food Labels, Saving Money and Menu Planning for a week. Dates for the series are April 3, 10, 17 and 24, and lessons are FREE.
Residents who want to participate can either call the Dinuba Branch Library 559/591-5829 or visit the library at 150 South “I” St. Dinuba, 93618.
