Kathleen Ayers of the Tulare County Child Support Department has been honored as Outstanding Attorney in the child support program.
This honor is given annually to a local child support agency or other government entity that demonstrates outstanding examples of creative problem solving by implementing innovative projects, services, or programs that improve the delivery of child support services. This honor is presented by the Child Support Directors Association, the leading organization honoring excellence in the child support program. CSDA, which nominates and selects the award winners, is comprised of local child support Directors and their employees.
Kathleen Ayers graduated Summa Cum Laude from Whitter Law School and joined the Tulare County Department of Child Support. She eventually worked her way up to the position of Chief Attorney. Her keen intelligence and analyzation skills earned her a spot on the State Department of Child Support Services Appellate Advisory Committee where she has been contributing statewide since 2006.
In 2014, a statute was enacted allowing children to have more than two parents. Ayers took decisive action and developed a formula to determine the guideline calculation for support. Ayers published her detailed formula that provides precise and clear instructions.
As Chief Attorney in Tulare County, Kathleen demonstrates her strong commitment to the child support program. Ayers also worked to create an attorney team mission statement that emphasizes quality customer service, high ethical standards and consistent decision making.
“Kathleen Ayers regularly shares her legal insight and innovative ideas to strengthen the California Child Support Program. She has provided training for the past 10 years at CSDA events.” said Greg Wilson, Executive Director of the Child Support Directors Association. “This honor is a testament to her leadership, kindness and teamwork.”
Kathleen Ayers was honored at annual awards ceremony on Wednesday May 1, 2019, at the Hyatt Regency, Garden Grove.
