To address access to healthcare issues and raise awareness about Medi-Cal supports, the Tulare County Health & Human Services Agency has partnered with Anthem Blue Cross, Tulare’s local Medi-Cal health plan, to bring a new LiveHealth Online Kiosk to Government Plaza South in Porterville. This Internet-enabled telehealth kiosk offers live video consultations board-certified doctors, licensed therapists, psychologists and psychiatrists. It features a touch screen monitor, built-in screening devices, privacy, wheelchair accessibility and more. It can be used during business hours to access non-emergency healthcare, mental health visits and prescription support. It is also available to everyone, regardless of their healthcare coverage. On Nov. 19, Anthem Blue Cross and Tulare County HHS will host an unveiling ceremony and demonstrate the kiosk’s capabilities.

Details: The LiveHealth Online kiosk will feature branded exterior panels, colored LED exterior and interior lighting. It is HIPAA compliant and allows users to have details of their visit forwarded to their primary care physicians. Medi-Cal beneficiaries with Anthem Blue Cross coverage can use the kiosk at no cost. Other Anthem Blue Cross beneficiaries will be responsible for their copay, and the cost for those with alternate health insurance coverage or without any coverage is capped at $49.
