Christopher Greer is Appointed as Tulare County's Assistant Agricultural Commisioner/Sealer

Former Tulare County Deputy Agricultural Commissioner/Sealer, Christopher Greer, has been appointed to the position of Assistant Agricultural Commissioner/Sealer by Tulare’s Agricultural Commissioner/Sealer, Tom Tucker.

Christopher was born and raised in Tulare, California where he was heavily involved in both 4-H and FFA. His grandfather/uncles had a dairy in Tulare and Christopher raised swine, sheep, and dairy cattle during his youth. Christopher attended College of the Sequoias for two years and transferred to California State University, Fresno where he graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in Agricultural Business.

Throughout college, Christopher worked in retail management. Once he graduated, he started his career at the Tulare County Agricultural Commissioner/Sealers Office in 2011 as an Ag & Standards Inspector Trainee. He was promoted to Deputy Ag Commissioner/Sealer in 2019 in charge of the Pest Exclusion & Standardization Division dealing largely in managing the certification of Tulare County’s export program and the Asian Citrus Psyllid Bulk Citrus program.

Christopher is an employee who is well liked by all, on a personal level and a business level. The Agricultural Commissioner has received positive comments about him from coworkers, county employees, from other Departments, and industry.

The position of Assistant Agricultural Commissioner/Sealer is appointed by the Agricultural Commissioner/Sealer and serves in his absence. Greer will assist in overseeing the department’s operations in providing regulatory services and programs in coordination with state and federal agencies. “I am honored to start my new role as the Assistant Ag Commissioner/Sealer for Tulare County. Christopher currently resides in Tulare with his wife Myca, and their two children Korbin (2 ½ years) and Emmett (4 months). Christopher will assume his new position immediately.
