Step Up Youth Activities Grant Funds Now Available; Mandatory Workshop on February 11th

The Tulare County Board of Supervisors will be accepting applications for their 2015 Step Up Youth Activities Grant Program.  The grant program provides $100,000 in grants for 501 (c) 3 non-profit organizations that operate within Tulare County.

The Step Up Youth Activities Grant Program is designed to provide financial support for non-profit organizations that provide programs and services aimed at improving the quality of life for at-risk youth.  Preference is given to programs working with youth that reside in underserved areas and encourage participation in positive activities and extra-curricular involvement.

The grant program provides a total amount of $100,000 in grant funds and is divided into five shares of $20,000; one share for each Supervisorial district.  Grants will be awarded in amounts ranging between $5,000 and $10,000.

The Tulare County Youth Commission will review the submitted grant applications and will then recommend to the Board of Supervisors which organizations should receive funding and at what level.  The Board of Supervisors will make the final funding decision.

Before making its recommendation, the Youth Commission will host a mandatory grant workshop for all applicants on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. in the County Administrative Office Building located at 2800 W. Burrel Ave, Visalia, CA 93291.  Organizations must send a representative from their program in order to be eligible to apply.
