Tulare County Library Introduces Winter Reading Program

Tulare County Library Introduces Winter Reading Program

The Tulare County Library is expanding our efforts to encourage a culture of learning within our community by establishing our first ever Winter Reading program! Along with the Library’s other reading programs, Winter Reading raises awareness of literacy, and encourages a lifelong love of reading. This year's Winter Reading goals are specifically geared towards encouraging leisure reading by people to exercise and expand their mind through the winter months.

The 4 week Winter Reading Program is for all ages. To receive a free book of their choice, all participants must complete a 5 hour reading challenge that kicks off Tuesday, Dec 17, 2019 and ends Saturday, Jan 11, 2020.

Free Winter Lunches for kids 1-18 begins December 26, 2019 through January 10, 2019 in Visalia (Blue Room), Pixley, and Ivanhoe in partnership with Fresno EOC. Check your local branch for the time.

When kids register, they get a goodie bag with a pencil, a winter bookmark, a winter sticker, and a coupon to Hometown Buffet!

Children’s programs at the Visalia branch Library include:

  • Winter Crafts Kickoff on Tuesday, December 17th at 3pm in the Children’s Wing
  • Toddler Dance Party on Tuesday, Jan 7th 2020 in the Children’s Wing
